Abstract

Unemployment and underemployment have become one ofthe world's major problems, especially in developing countries. university students often face unemployment after spending their valuable time and money in order to receive educational advantages. It makes them are more lulnerable to unfavorable economic conditions as those students have spent a lot of their resources while having the higher education. This study examines the factors that causes for Unemployment and Underemployment among the graduate in Nuwaraeliya District. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze existing level of Education level, Graduates attributes, Employability skills, Job mismatch among Unemployment and Underemployment graduate, what sort of relationship between Education level, Graduates attributes, Employability skills, Job mismatch among Unemployment and Underemployment graduate. impact of Education level, Graduates attributes, Employability skills, Job mismatch among Unemployment and Underemployment graduate and combined impact of Education level, Graduates attributes, Employability skills, Job mismatch among Unemployment and Underemployment graduate in Nuwaraeliya. The quantitative research approach used for this research. As well as Structured questionnaire was used as the method of data collection and 200 Unemployment and Underemployment graduate selected in Nuwaraeliya. Convenience sampling method used to make the sampling frame ofthe study. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. The findings exhibited that, there was a relationship between Education level, Graduates attributes, Employability skills, Job mismatch among Unemployment and Underemployment and Lastly, the result indicated that there is a significant impact of Education level, Graduates attributes, Employability skills, Job mismatch among Unemployment and Underemployment and results indicated there is significant combined impact Education level, Graduates attributes, Employability skills, Job mismatch among Unemployment and Underemployment. This shows that Unemployment and Underemployment graduates build up positive attitudes and develop selection criteria to achieve and They can get proper knowledge from universities in proper way and they can aware about latest job opportunities by help of internet and other technologies
