dc.description.abstract This research study explores the impact of social intelligence on employee performance in insurance companies in the Batticaloa District of Sri Lanka. Social intelligence refers to an individual's ability to understand and manage social situations effectively, encompassing dimensions like social information processing, social skills, and social awareness. The study aims to identify the levels of social intelligence and employee performance, examine the relationship between these two variables, and assess the impact of social intelligence on employee performance. The research adopts a quantitative approach, gathering data through a structured questionnaire from 300 employees across six insurance companies in Batticaloa. Statistical analyses, including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and reglession analysis, are employed to achieve the research objectives. The findings reveal that a significant proportion of respondents perceive high levels of social intelligence and employee performance. Furthermore, the study identifies a strong positive relationship between social intelligence and employee performance. Regression analysis confirms that social inteliigence significantly and positively impacts employee performance, explaining 67.7% of the observed variance' F The study concludes that fostering social intelligence within the insurance sector workforce can contribute to enhanced employee performance, underscoring its importance for organizational success and effective service delivery' Recommendations are provided for insurance companies to invest in developing social intelligence competencies among employees through training programs and workplace initiatives. en_US
