Abstract:
Today business organizations are operating in very dynamism and complexity
environment. One of the challenges for the organization is to keep good employees in
competitive business environment to achieve their goals and objectives. All apparel
sector organization's highly depend on the human resources. Because they achieve their
goals and objective through employees. One of the major barriers to achieve
organization's goals and objective is Turnover intention of employees.
This research was carried out for identifying the impact of job satisfaction on turnover
intention on managerial level employees of garment manufacturing industries in
Nuwara Eliya district. In reviewing the literature, the researcher identified that the
factors of job satisfaction are important factors that influence turnover intentions.
Therefore, the objective of the current study was to find a negative effect of job
satisfaction factors on the turnover intentions of employees at the managerial level of
apparel industry.
Population of this study was 291 managerial level employees among them 218
managerial level employees have been taken as the respondents. Data were gathered by
using structures questionnaires. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression
analysis. The findings indicated that factors of job satisfaction (job stress, payment
system, promotion opportunity, superior's support, workplace environment) negatively
impact on turnover intention managerial level employees of 13 garments Nuwara Eliya
district. By referring the finding of present study, the research can suggest main
implication to the of these 13 garment manufacturing industries in Nuwara Eliya.
Finally, the researcher can propose to future the present study is being researched to
broaden the theory by examining theory in different contexts except for the context in
which the researcher used it.
In this research study, primary data was collected. A structured questionnaire was used
as the method of data collection. The quantitative research approach was used. The data
were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses.
