In today's fast-changing world. organizations struggle to stay strong. They might face
unexpected problems they didn't see coming, which can impact the company in many
ways. Therefore, it is important for employees to having improvisational skills.
Knowledge management practices help to improve the employee capacity for
improvisation.
Knowledge management practices included utilization of documented knowledge,
utilization of experiential knowledge, knowledge sharing, and knowledge creation. This
study examined the knowledge management practices and employee improvisation
from the perspective of employees in banking sector. In addition to this, the researcher
identify the level of these variable, impact and relationship between them.
So far lack of research has been carried out in Sri Lanka to investigate the relationship
and influence of knowledge management practices on employee improvisation. In
doing so, a survey is administered among 238 employees who are working selected
banks in Batticaloa District.
Researcher hypothesized and found that knowledge management practices (utilization
of documented knowledge, utilization of experiential knowledge, knowledge sharing,
and knowledge creation) was positively related to employee improvisation. The study
also revealed that utilization of documented knowledge, utilization of experiential
knowledge, knowledge sharing, and knowledge creation have impact on employee
improvisation. Moreover, this study found that that knowledge management practices
(utilization of documented knowledge, utilization of experiential knowledge,
knowledge sharing, and knowledge creation) has high level of employee improvisation.
Further, the findings of this study offer guidance to the banking sector looking to
improve their employees' abilities. |
