Abstract:
In the twenty first every organization are operating in a very competitive environment and
apparel firms sector's environment is also very competitive. In this situation, it is very
important to build employee-based social network and activities for the purpose of build
good relationships with employees. This study is investigated the influence of Social
Network Support (SNS) on Work-family Balance (WFB). Therefore, the main aim of this
study was to analyze the impact of Social Network Support on Work Family Balance,
analyze the level of Social Network Support, Work Family Balance and Job Satisfaction.
The mediation effect of Job Satisfaction on Work Family Balance in selected apparel firms
is analyzed.
Structured questionnaire was used as the method of data collection and selected 400 apparel
firms employees customers (Brandix) in Batticaloa as the sample of this study.
Convenience sampling method used to make the sampling frame and quantitative e
research approach used for this study. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics,
correlation and regression analysis.
The result indicates that Social Network Support, Job Satisfaction and Work Family
Balance are in high level in apparel firms and there is a strong positive relationship among
all variables. There is a high positive impact of Social Network Support on Work Family
Balance in apparel firms sectors. And also results indicated that there is a partial mediation
effect of Job Satisfaction towards Work Family Balance in apparel firms.
This study supposed that the suitable usage of SNS will increases the number of Job
Satisfaction or make long term healthy relations with the current or potential employees
through managing information or improve the performance of apparel firms activities that
assist Work Family Balance.
