Abstract:
This study investigates the factors affect on SME performance in Batticaloa District. This
study was implemented with of five variables such as of technological factor,
organizational factor, environmental factor, social media adoption and the performance of
SMEs. This study eliminates the empirical knowledge gap in Batticaloa district regarding
this topic.
Using a structured questionnaire the data was collected from 150 SMEs in Batticaloa
District and the collected data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, correlation
and regression analyses.
The findings reveal that the technological factor, organizational factor and environmental
factor are in high level among the respondents and SME performance also at high level.
The finding indicated a strong positive relationship between technological factor and
social media adoption. Strong positive relationship between organizational factor and
social media adoption and the results also indicated that there strong positive relationship
between environmental factor and social media adoption Finding also revealed that
social media adoption has a strong positive correlation with performance of SME.
The result of the simple regression analysis indicated that there is a significant positive
impact of social media adoption on SME performance.
