dc.description.abstract The apparel industry in Sri Lanka plays a crucial role in the economy and serves as a significant contributor to exports. This research focuses on the impact of family-friendly human resource practices and organizational commitment in apparel sector in Anuradhapura District. Implementing family-friendly human resource practices, like flexible scheduling and providing childcare services at the workplace, play a crucial role in promoting a supportive atmosphere at work and increasing employee dedication. A method of stratified sampling was employed to gather information from 312 participants employed in the apparel industry in the Anuradhapura district. SPSS was used to analyze the data, with mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage utilized to assess family-friendly HR practices and organizational commitment levels. Correlation analysis shows how variables were related, while regression analysis evaluated their influence. The study showed that HR practices that support a family-friendly environment have a significant impact on employees' commitment to the organization. The results indicated that there are strong connections between flexible work schedules, health benefits, paid time of onsite daycare, and dedication to the company. Detailed tables were used to present demographic information and research data separately. Implementing family-friendly HR practices like flexible work hours, medical aid, paid vacations, onsite childcare facilities, and counseling services is suggested to boost organizational commitment in the apparel sector in the Anuradhapura district. Encouraging a good balance between work and personal life, while providing ongoing training and development opportunities, can enhance employee satisfaction and retention. Consistent communication and feedback, as well as creating an inclusive environment, are necessary to enhance employee relationships and dedication. en_US
