Abstract:
This study investigates the influence of virtuous leadership on employee job
satisfaction in the banking sector of the Rathnapura District. In order to foster a positive
and ethical work environment, virtuous leaders demonstrate traits such as integrity,
humility, and compassion, w.hich can significantly influence how employees perceive
their rvork and overall job satisfaction. Job satisfaction includes multiple dimensions
such as pay, pronotion opportunities, and working conditions. This study revealed
through both literature review and empirical analysis that virtuous leadership has a
significant and positive impact on employee job satisfaction. Employees who are led by
virtuous leaders are more likely to experience a sense of fulfillment and commitment
in their workplace.
The study follows a quantitative research approach and relies on primary data. A
structured questionnaire w-as used as the data collection tool. consisting of items rated
on a five-point Likert scale ranging fi'om strongly disagree to strongly agree. The study
utilized data from 249 banking employees in Rathnapura District and adopted a
convenience sampling method as the sampling framework. Data were analyzed using
SPSS version 26.0 to ensure accuracy and reliability of the results.
