Abstract:
This study aims to investigate the effect of Organization Green Culture on Employee
Green Behavior the mediating role of Employee Environmental Commitment in the
selected banks in the Batticaloa District. The research uses a quantitative research
approach to collect data from employees working in seven banks in Batticaloa
District. The study employs a structured questionnaire to collect data on Organization f
Green Culture, Employee 6r..n Behavior, and Employee Environmental
Commitment. The collected data analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics
to identify the relationship between Organization Green Culture, Employee Green
Behavior and Employee Environmental Commitment, and to identify whether
Employee Environmental Commitment mediates the relationship between
Organization Green Culture and Employee Green Behavior among the employs of
seven selected banks in Batticaloa District.
The key findings of this study revealed that Organization Green Culture positively
effect on Employee Green Behavior with mediating role of Employee Environmental
Commitment in the surveyed banks in Batticaloa district. This survey is administered
among 238 employees who are working in the selected banks in Batticaloa District of
Sri Lanka. Furthermore, the study will provide a framework for future research on the
same topic in different Districts or whole Sri Lanka.
In this study, the statistical tools that used to analyze the levels of variables are mean
and SD values, while relationships were measured by Person coefficients and liner
regressions for further mediation analyzes. Overall, the study will help to enhance my
understanding of the role of Organization Green Culture in the selected banks of the
Batticaloa District and its effect on Employee Green Behavior with mediating role of
Employee Environmental Commitment. The results of this study will have important
implications for the environmental protection in the banking sector in the Batticaloa
district and potentially in other regions as well.
